In
1996, Bata Marianov founded the International Sculpture Symposium (S.I.S.),
a yearly month long event taking place at Garana, the pitoresque village
in the Banatian Mountains, Romania. Artists from all over the world are
invited to apply for participation. They are given the opportunity to create
monumental works that will be placed in the open air permanent sculpture
park. The SIS is mostly sponsored by the Romaniani Ministry of Culture,
the Caras-Severin County Council and many others. In the same time it is the first symposium
taking place on a private area.
The artists work and live together during this month and learn from each others diffrent cultural background. The scope of this symposium is to set an artistical milestone, not only for Romania but for the whole world. For more information please contact Bata Marianov! |
